In July 2022, I took the plunge and explored this incredible city solo. Now, I’m sharing my itinerary—the one that made me fall in love with Dubai. Whether you’re planning your first trip or heading back for more, this guide is full of my favourite spots.
1. Dubai City Tour
I started my Dubai adventure with an exhilarating city tour, soaking in this world-famous destination’s stunning architecture, rich culture, and vibrant energy. My journey took me through some of Dubai’s most iconic spots:
Palm Jumeirah: I hopped on the monorail for a bird’s-eye view of this man-made wonder, feeling like I was in the middle of a sci-fi movie.
Dubai Mall: A shopper’s paradise and so much more, with its dazzling array of shops, restaurants, and attractions.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah: A charming mix of traditional and modern, where I wandered through the maze of stalls and waterways.
Dubai Marina: The perfect place to take in the skyline and watch the yachts glide by.
2. Mall of the Emirates
Next up was a visit to the iconic Mall of the Emirates, a must-see for any shopaholic or anyone who loves a bit of luxury. I spent a good part of the day exploring, and a few highlights were:
- L’ETO Cafe: A cozy spot where I took a break with some delicious treats.
- Sephora: I loved browsing through all the beauty products, even though I didn’t end up buying anything.
- Fenty: Of course, I had to check out the Fenty collection—who can resist Rihanna’s brand?
3. Abu Dhabi City Tour
I took a day to journey over to Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE, where I immersed myself in its rich history, cultural landmarks, and modern attractions. My exploration included:
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: As the largest mosque in the UAE, it’s a breathtaking masterpiece that can accommodate over 40,000 worshippers. Walking through its grand halls and serene courtyards was truly a humbling experience.
Heritage Village: A charming glimpse into the UAE’s past, where I got a feel for the traditional way of life.
Emirates Palace: Pure luxury at its finest, and a must-see even if just for a quick photo op.
3. Morning Desert Safari
I embarked on an adrenaline-fueled adventure across the vast expanse of Dubai’s golden sands. From the thrill of camel riding and dune bashing to the excitement of sandboarding and dune riding, every moment was packed with excitement. A highlight was posing with majestic eagles, adding a unique touch to the desert experience.
4. Madness Restaurant
I indulged in a sensory explosion of flavors at the vibrant and eccentric MADNESS Dubai restaurant—the one where clowns serve up a spectacle of dishes. It’s not every day you get to dine in a place that’s as much a visual feast as it is a culinary one.
5. Museum of the Future
I made a stop at the Museum of the Future, where cutting-edge technology and visionary concepts come to life. Stepping into this futuristic marvel in Dubai felt like leaping into tomorrow, This place sparks the imagination and offers a glimpse into the world of what’s to come.
6. Photo stops
My hotel had picturesque surroundings so I went around taking pictures.
I spent a week exploring both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and it was nothing short of awesome! Thanks to the UAE’s relentless innovation in tourism, these cities are far from one-time destinations. With so much to see and do, even a full week wasn’t enough to cover it all. I would definitely return for more adventures!
I look forward to visiting again and the top of the list in my itinerary is jumping off a plane.
