Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to learn French to study in France. as there are thousands of English-taught programs available.
However, learning French is recommended to make your daily life in France easier. I’ve shared my experience as an absolute beginner learning French here.

There are two main ways to secure admission to a school in France. The first and easiest method is through Campus France Nigeria. while the other option is to apply directly to the schools yourself. Keep in mind that. regardless of the option you choose, you will always need to validate your admission through Campus France Nigeria.

Applying With Campus France – English taught programs
To apply for admission through Campus France, you’d start by creating an account on the Campus France Nigeria. portal and completing the ‘Study in France’ form, detailing your academic background and program preferences. You then choose your programs (up to 7 different programs). from the available options and upload all required documents, including. Waec, academic transcripts, CV, and proof of language proficiency if needed. Pay the processing fee of N50,000 and schedule an interview with Campus France. During the interview, you are to discuss your study plans and career goals. After the interview, monitor your application status and wait for admission offers. Once you receive your acceptance, validate your admission through Campus France and then apply for your student visa.
Note that campus France application is only opened from Oct- Dec every year.
Applying to Schools Directly.
Some of you might think you’re the best thing since fried rice and refuse to play the numbers game, only to complain later about not getting admission. You can apply to a maximum of seven programs through Campus France, but there are many other schools you can apply to directly. You only need one acceptance to proceed, so if you limit yourself to just two or three. applications and get rejected by all, you’ll have to wait another year. Instead, consider applying to 10 to 14 programs to increase your chances of success.
Applying directly to schools in France involves researching institutions and programs that align with your goals, then submitting your application directly to those schools. You’ll need to prepare and submit required documents such as academic transcripts, CV, and a personal statement. Ensure you meet each school’s specific admission criteria and deadlines. Direct applications offer flexibility and can complement your Campus France applications, increasing your chances of acceptance.
After securing your admission independently, you still need to create a Campus France account, validate your admission through them, and pay the 50,000 naira fee.
